Lizzie Renkert, the former magazine editor of Madison, has teamed up with her sister Georgie to launch her new label, Kindred.
With extensive experience in the fashion industry in publishing, Kindred is not just another emerging label. Launching her own label is a highly credible move for Renkert who has teamed up with her sister, who has over 10 years experience working in the fashion industry doing buying and development work for companies such as Sportsgirl.
As well as running launching this label, Lizzie also holds a weekly fashion segment on Mornings on 9 and has appeared on Project Runway.
The Kindred collection was launched last night at Icebergs Dining and Bar and consists of dreamy prints as well as structured jackets and was launched to a group of media and VIP’s. Renkert acknowledged the difficulties of the fashion industry last night during her speech at the launch, and maintains they are going into it with her eyes wide open. The range also offers highly affordable price points indicating she understands the price pointed market.
Pregnant with her second baby on the way, the ex-editor last night revealed she was ‘overwhelmed with the enormous amount of support she has received from the industry including from sponsors Vittoria Coffee’, who look to be continuing their marketing towards Australian fashion.
” We are thrilled to be continuing our support of the Australian fashion industry, in particular start-up brands such as We are Kindred, which has so much experience and talent behind it”. says Rolando Schirato, General Manager, Vittoria Coffee.
The summer 13 collection is available to buy now.
