Japanese retailer and lifestyle brand, Muji opened their doors at a launch to media and VIP’s in Sydney on a chilly Wednesday night.
The brand is known for its simplicity in its outlook on design and stays true to the Japanese heritage it’s founded on.
Homewares remain clean and modern with clothes minimal and functional with a slight street edge. They also offer an excellent array of stationery supplies, childrenswear and a superb collection of homewares.
After visiting stores in New York and Hong Kong, their Sydney store which is housed in The Galeries in Sydney, showcases an exceptional modern, clean comprehensive merchandised store which actually rivals some of their more established ones overseas.
The flagship store, covering over 1000sqm of floor space, offers household, fashion, health and beauty items and is a world-class store, on par with the best MUJI stores in Japan.
Mr. Hisashi Takeyama, Director of MUJI Australia said of the store, “We are very pleased to open our flagship store at The Galeries in Sydney. There are now over 200 international MUJI stores, outside of Japan, and our Sydney flagship store is not only the largest in Australia but in the top 10 largest MUJI stores in the world!”
Prices remain on parity, and, in fact, better on some things that I saw overseas and it offers exceptional value for money on clothing in particular.
