Luxury resale store Vestiaire Collective has teamed up with German model, Toni Garrn to raise funds for the Toni Garrn Foundation which 100% of the proceeds from the pop up and online stores will go to the Toni Garrn Foundation, which facilitates access to education for girls in Zimbabwe, providing them with a safe and appropriate learning.
The Toni Garrn Foundation and Vestiaire Collective will be hosting a series of pop up stores across Europe, and will also have an online store as an extension of Toni’s successful ‘Supermodel Flea Market’ which she started in NYC.
Speaking about her passion for supporting young women, the collaboration and her foundation, and the collaboration with Vestiaire Collective the German model spoke passionately.
“I’ve been supporting girl’s education with Plan International for a couple of years now and go to Africa as often as I can. Last year I launched my own foundation, to be able to help kids all over the world and focus on certain projects. I focus on Africa right now as I see a terrifying amount of people in need and absolutely love the continent.
I fell in love with the continent a long time ago and saw within a couple of days that the girls have huge potential, yet aren’t being treated equally at all, it felt extremely unfair. It’s a human right to be able to go to school and learn how to read and write, without education no girl can follow her dreams or even properly create them. Every year a girl continues to go to school her income in later life increases by 20%, it’s so important that they stay in school
For the past 2 years, I’ve been holding flea market pop-ups in NYC where I sold clothes donated by my model friends and from my wardrobe with 100% of all profits benefiting my foundation. I always wanted to take the sale global and for it to have an online presence, where anyone could participate and own a piece from their favourite models closet but do something good at the same time!
Vestiaire Collective is an online site, selling vintage and pre-loved luxury clothes to people all over the world, so I knew right away they’d be a perfect partner to help me raise even more funds for my girls in Africa!”
Pre-loved designer pieces from the wardrobes of top international and Australian models, including WA’s Elle MacPherson, Jess Hart, Kate Moss, Gisele Bundchen, Georgia Fowler, Alexa Chung, Poppy Delevigne and of course, Toni Garrn from the 3rd November 2017.
There are also exclusive t-shirts supporting the collaboration designed by Bella Freud which is currently available to shop online and retail for $90.36 AUD.
