Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival (VAMFF) has recently announced volume retailer, Target as the new naming rights sponsor for the National Graduate Showcase indicating the long term commitment to the emerging designer sector of the fashion festival.
Like H & M, Target are no stranger to fashion collaborations, usually with high end designers and most recently with Peter Pilotto for Target.
Target maintains they hope to grow the mentoring already in place by exposing designers to its credible history of national and international designer collaborations, including the ‘Designers for Target’ programs as well as other key components of the fashion business including marketing, buying, public relations and design.
Stuart Machin, Target Australia Managing Director, said “With over 300 stores nationwide as well as online shopping, Target is constantly on the lookout for new designer collaboration opportunities to help bring style and quality to our customers at prices they love.”
“Supporting the best of Australia’s young designers is extremely important to us. We are excited to work with the Festival; the work they do to bring the fashion industry to consumers is impressive. This is a very exciting partnership for both parties and all designers involved”.
The National Graduate Showcase aims to support the next generation of emerging designers by showcasing their work locally and globally to consumers and retailers.
